Health Officials in Malawi are racing against time to get about fifty thousands doses of the Astrazeneca vaccine donated to the country by African Union before its expiry date in just under a week.
Minister of health Nkhumbidze Kandodo Chiponda has acknowledged that the vaccine will expire on 13 April 2021 but she is optimistic the doses will be absorbed by the expiry date.
Chaponda has also assured Malawians that the vaccine poses no health complications despite its efficacy date approaching.
College of Medicine based health expert , Professor Adamson Muula has suggested to the government to vaccinate whoever is willing to be vaccinated provided they are thirty years old and above regardless of their health conditions or cadres.
