South African Rapper AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, is reported “doing well” as can be expected under the circumstance, his publicist Pumza Nohashe has confirmed.

The statement follows the death of AKA fiancée Anele ‘Nelli’ Tembe aged 22 years old on Sunday, April 11.

“He is still trying to make sense of it all and is leaning on his mother Lynne and father Tony who have been by his side. The love and support of Anele’s family and a grief counsellor have been of some relief to him,” disclosed Nohashe in a statement.

On Sunday Cape Town police reported that a 22-year-old woman had fallen to death from a 10th floor of Pepperclub Hotel in Loop Street in Capetown, the Tembe and the Forbes Family confirmed Anele’s death afterwards.

Meanwhile Cape Town police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk has disclosed that an inquest docket has been opened as the South African Police Services examine the scene for clues.

However speaking on behalf of the rapper, AKA’s father has since described the 22-year-old Anele as a kind, respectful and confident young woman.

Those close to Anele paid tribute to the 22-year-old during a prayer meeting and have remembered her as a “go-getter” and “hard worker”..
