Thirteen police officers accused of having a hand in the murder of Buleya Lule have pleaded not guilty to charges levelled against them.

There are three counts in the case. All the 13 are answering counts of murder and grievous harm while the third count, negligence, applies to two of the suspects.

When the High Court in Lilongwe sat for the suspects to take plea, they all pleaded not guilty to the counts.

The case has since been adjourned to May 17.

The State is expected to parade 13 witnesses to prove the case.
