The Karonga Paramount Chief Kyungu has asked the “Tonse” led government to put aside political differences with other political groupings for Malawi to develop.
Paramount Chief Kyungu made the remarks while appealing to Vice President Saulos Chilima who is touring the construction works of the Karonga Water Supply that is underway in the border district.
Kyungu further called on the politicians not to keep on flocking to Karonga to see the site with the aim of drawing allowances while the project stalls.
Meanwhile, on his part, Vice President resonated remarks from the Ngonde supreme leader for political leaders to unite.
The Karonga water supply project will be completed in September 2022 is expected to cost 26.7 million US Dollars.
The project is expected to rehabilitate and upgrade the existing Karonga Town water supply systems and extend the distribution pipe network to the surrounding areas.
