Police in Karonga have confirmed the death of two people whose vehicle fell into Kyungu River on the Karonga Songwe Road.
Karonga police spokesperson Enock Livason has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
According to Livason, the vehicle submerged in the river at a spot where part of the bridge was washed away.
The vehicle was discovered around 9:00am on Thursday.
According to Livason, the two victims are officials from Immigration Department and Malawi Revenue Authority.
Meanwhile State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima will visit the place this afternoon.
