The death toll of people who have died in Kyungu River has risen to three.
The third victim, whose details are yet to be known, is suspected to be a Malawi Bureau of Standards official.
Out of two vehicles that plunged into the river only one has been found, police have said.
Meanwhile the Kyungu bridge has been fixed and the situation is back to normal in Karonga.
State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima on Thursday suspended his tour for the North to inspect the bridge.
