President Lazarus Chakwera is today April 26 expected to meet members of Parliament who recently won by-elections in the Lowershire, Presidential Press Secretary Brian Banda has confirmed the development.

 

The legislators were however sworn in on Friday 23 at a ceremony presided over by Chief Justice Andrew Nyirenda.

The development follows the by-elections held on March 30 2021 in some parts of the country following the nullification of results and death of some members of parliament in some areas.

The Press Secretary acknowledged that among others, the President will also meet with Paramount Chief Lundu “to share some notes.”

 

The meeting will take place at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.

 

Later in the day, Chakwera will host Kalonga Gawa Undi, the Chewa king who came to the country to attend the funeral of former vice president, the late Justine Malawezi according to Banda.
