India – In yet another shocking case of crime reported from Uttar Pradesh, a minor boy allegedly mercilessly thrashed his 13-year-old friend and then slit his both wrists with a blade, killing him. As per reports, the accused committed the crime as he feared that the victim might inform his family about his smoking habit.
The teenage victim was identified as Saurabh, a resident of a slum in Gudamba area of Lucknow. Saurabh used to sell vegetables. He left his house on Friday to buy vegetables but didn’t return home. His family members then flared up in a search for him. Later, the family members approached the local police, asking them to trace the missing teenager.
The police immediately sprang up in action and scanned the area’s CCTV footage to trace the teenager. In the footage, the boy was spotted walking with a friend. The police then picked up the missing teen’s friend who subsequently confessed to the crime.
“He (accused) told the police that he and Saurabh reached a vacant plot after leaving the house for the market. Saurabh started playing games on mobile phone of the accused while the accused started smoking cigarettes. After some time, they picked a fight, and Saurabh said that he would tell his parents about his habit of smoking,” a report published by The Times of India stated.
Upon hearing this, the accused flew into rage and brutally thrashed Saurabh who lost consciousness. The minor accused then shot off to a nearby shop to buy a blade. He returned to the plot and slashed Saurabh’s both writs with the blade. The accused, before fleeing, dumped the victim’s body under debris in the plot.
