Motorist Arrested For Causing Death Due To Reckless Driving

39 year old man Alexander Chombwe is in police custody for allegedly causing death by reckless driving in Dedza district.
According to police a towing bar Chombwe was carrying in his vehicle fell and hit a pedestrian yesterday.
Dedza Police Spokesperson Edward Kabango has confirmed the development.
According to Kabango, the suspect was driving a motor vehicle registration number BLK 3481, a Mitsubishi Colt, from the direction of Ntcheu heading towards Dedza.
Kabango said the metal towing bar fell without the knowledge of the driver and it hit pedestrian Ferdinand Kampeni, who died upon arrival at Dedza district hospital.
