The 27-year-old UK-based black rights campaigner Sasha Johnson is in CRITICAL condition after being shot in the head, with her group and cops divided on whether her attack was targeted.
Taking the Initiative party, of which Johnson is a leader, claims she’d received death threats for her activism, but a Met Police statement denied there had been any evidence of credible threats against her.
A family friend reportedly believed it was more likely she was an unfortunate victim of gang violence rather than her political work.
Although not an official member of BLM, the organization offered their support.
“Any attempt to intimidate or silence her is an attack on us all.”
