Kenya’s Mini Bakeries Limited, the maker of Supa Loaf bread, has offered to compensate a customer who complained on Twitter about “holes in slices” of a loaf of bread he bought.

The customer, who claimed to have been eating Supa Loaf all his life, had complained that “having an 800 grammes bread with holes from the first to the last slice” was unfair.

The company has apologised to the customer for the “unfortunate experience”, although it is unclear how it intends to make the compensation.

On Monday, the Competition Authority Kenya ordered bread manufacturers to disclose full information about their product, including weight and ingredients.

This followed concerns that some bakers were selling bread that was lighter than the industrially accepted weight.
