The High Court in Blantyre has abruptly adjourned to Thursday a judge bribery case involving well known businessman Thom Mpinganjira after a witnesses failed to show up this morning.

Mpinganjira’s lead lawyer Patrice Nkhono confirmed of the development, saying the witness failed to show up on personal safety reasons.

The case is being held in camera following a request from the defence team.

According to inside sources, today it was the turn of Mr. Chivunde to testify in the case.

Later Prince Kapondamgaga, who in earlier court hearings, was mentioned as having benefitted from donations from Mpinganjira was supposed to testify.

Mpinganjira, is answering charges bordering on attempting to offer bribes to judges who presided over the presidential elections case to determine in favor of former president, Peter Mutharika, and the Electoral Commission.
