Three candidates for the impending Nkhata Bay Central Parliamentary by-election have withdrawn their nominations.
The candidates Justin Prince Banda of (UTM), Helen Gertrude Mwale of (TPM) and Jolly Deraley Nyimba of (MCP) have since informed the electoral body.
Following the withdrawal, the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) will remove the names from the list of nominated candidates and will not appear on the ballot paper.
Similarly, an Independent candidate for Local Government by-election in Lalanje Ward Hussein Miraji Maunde Jaffali has withdrawn his nomination.
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is expected to hold by elections in NkhataBay Central and Nsanje Lalanje Ward on 29th June 2021.
