The Film Association of Malawi (FAMA) has elected filmmaker and producer, Gift Sukali as its president.

He saw off competition from Ashukile Mwakisulu after getting 94 votes against 38.

Another well-known filmmaker, Flora Suya has been elected as vice president after amassing 104 votes while James Kitchen and Levison Charles have been entrusted with the positions of secretary and vice-secretary respectively.

Horace Boti went unopposed to get the treasurer position while Daudi Shaubu has been elected as his vice.

Branzio Kanyong’o, Philimon Kuipa, Cathreen Mlenga and Thokozani Ziloweza, have been elected as executive committee members.
