The office of the president of South Africa has dismissed reports that say president Cyril Ramaphosa’s iPad was stolen or went missing at a presser on Tuesday.

President was recorded suggesting his iPad had been stolen but his office said that was not the case. Said the office in a statement:

Thank you, South Africa. There was no question of the iPad being missing or stolen. The President was making a light-hearted point while waiting for the iPad to be brought to him – which it was before he began his remarks to media.

Ramaphosa appeared to be missing his iPad at a press conference where he was presenting on measures to improve the performance of South Africa’s ports.

He was heard asking that whoever had the gadget bring it back.
