President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera took advantage of the Independence Day Commemoration on Tuesday to trash the decorations in most of the roundabouts in the country, saying the decorations were of substandard.
Chakwera’s condemnation follows public outcry on the same and others even took the matter to social media to question the decoration.
In his speech Chakwera asked Malawians to take a leading role in question some of the actions taken by their leaders.
“Mukuona wina akuti akuika zokongoletsera kuti tikukondwerera zaka 57, koma kuona ntchito yake, yosalozeka ndikulozeka komwe ngati uyang’ane kumbali,” Chakwera said.
Chakwera has therefore asked Malawians to be responsible and do things that would make Malawi a better nation.
He also asked Malawians to questions some of the things that ministers under the Tonse Alliance post on the social media.
Malawi celebrated the 57th Independence Day with call on leaders to take a leading role in developing the country.
