In Kasungu Municipal Council  Ex-employees have  given until July 12th for the council to  make a refund of around a million Kwacha in welfare funds deducted from their earnings when they were in service.
The former workers threaten to seal the council offices if their demand is not met on time.
The ex-employees, 46 in number, suspect that the council was not remitting the funds to the welfare committee hence the present scenario.
Chairperson of the ex-workers, Gilbert Phiri, says the group suspects that the funds were used for things outside scheme scope.
Kasungu Municipality Chief Executive Officer, Fannie Msimuko has refused to comment on this.
But municipality mayor, Socrates Jere’ says is aware of the concerns and awaiting official details for possible action in the days to come.
