A 42-year-old Highfield man sadly died in lover’s arms after his wife disowned him.
Crema Masiya, a father of three children allegedly fell sick while at his mistress Tapiwa Tafirenyika’s (33) place of residence in Highfield.
He sadly passed away upon arrival at Sally Mugabe Hospital on Sunday after complaining of severe headache and nose bleeding.
Speaking after his death, Tafirenyika told H-Metro that Masiya came to her house from work complaining about a severe headache.
Upon noticing that he was bleeding from the nose and mouth, she engaged her friend and they hired a taxi and took him to his first wife around midnight.
Along the way, she gave him some tablets in an effort to save his life but in vain.
However, when they arrived at the now-deceased’s place of residence, Tafirenyika clashed with Masiya’s wife Renia Mubayiwa over taking Masiya to the hospital.
“Mudzimai wake patamunokera tichimuudza zvekurwara kwemurume aramba kubuda zvikanzi pedzeranai nekuti ndimi manga munaye.
“She was so arrogant that I was quick to suspect that it was the reason her husband was finding peace and love at my house for the past three years,” she said.
Upon noticing she had no intention of opening or assisting her husband, Tafirenyika went with Masiya to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Tafirenyika accused Mabayiwa of being a bad wife to his dying husband. She, however, vowed to attend the funeral in the company of some bodyguards arguing that Masiya’s father had already accepted her as a second wife.
“Masiya’s father used to visit me here and he told me that mourners will be gathered at his house in Southlands.
“I will be accompanied by my big five female bodyguards to the funeral in case the late’s wife decides to attack me,” she said.
Reached for comment following her husband’s death, Mubayiwa refused to comment on the issue. She said she was yet to accept the mishap
“I have no comment at the moment and I am at my father-in-law’s house in Southlands right now,” said Mubayiwa.
