Just hours after Brian Banda announced of his resignation as President Lazarus Chakwera’s Spokesperson, State House has said it has not received any official communication from him.

State House Communication Director Sean Kampondeni has confirmed in a phone interview in London where he is on a presidential entourage.

According to Kampondeni, President Chakwera will make an official communication when he returns.

Banda announced of his resignation on the grounds that he is going to Peking University in China for a short scholarship.

However, it is not clear who will replace Banda.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that a Public Relations officer from one of the councils will replace Banda.

Banda has been in office for a year since President Chakwera assumed office. He also briefly served in the same capacity in the reign of President Joyce Banda.
