Authorities from Blantyre and Lilongwe Health Offices have confirmed that they have run out of the Coronavirus Vaccine.

Blantyre received 28 000 doses of the vaccine which was administered in the past 3 days.

This is from the 192,000 doses that the country received last weekend from Covax facility.

But health authorities are assuring the public that the country is expecting at least 100,000 doses of Johnson and Johnson vaccine next week.

This however raises questions, as the authorities earlier said that they will not allow people to combine the vaccines, for those requiring the second dose.

Spokesperson for the Blantyre District Health Office Chrissy Banda anticipates high turn-out of people when the next consignment of the Covid-19 vaccine arrives.
