United States President Joe Biden surprised people last Wednesday when he said he used to drive an 18-wheeler truck.

The President was paying a visit to the Mack Truck facility in Pennsylvania when he said he used to drive the giant trucks in the past.

In a video that was later shared online, the president said:

“I used to drive an 18-wheeler, man. I got to.”

There is, however, poor evidence that Biden was driving an 18-wheeler.

After being questioned about the president’s claim, a spokesperson for the White House pointed to a December 1973 article from the Wilmington Evening Journal that showed Biden rode in such a truck on a 536-mile journey to Ohio.

Reporters pressed the spokesperson on the issue – noting that riding in a truck is not the same as driving one – and that is when they were told about a United Federation of Teachers post that touched on Biden driving a school bus once as a summer job.

Later on, Fox News pushed the White House again about Biden’s claim, pointing out that there’s a big difference between a school bus and an 18-wheeler truck, but they are yet to receive a reply
