Police in Mulanje have arrested two men, Alex Nicks, 38 and James Maloya, 37 for inciting violence.
Mulanje Police Public Relations Officer, Gresham Ngwira, said yesterday, police officers in the district escorted some Sheriffs to Muloza to seize property from a Mr Maula over issues currently in court.
According to Ngwira, when the team arrived at his lodge situated at Muloza Trading Centre, some police officers were deployed outside the fence whilst others went inside with the sheriffs who introduced themselves and started loading items into their vehicle.
He said the team of sheriffs took a motor vehicle, Toyota Axio and drove it to Mulanje Police Station for safe keeping.
Displeased with this, the two mobilised their colleagues, who caused violence and insulted the officers.
The mob went further to offload the items before locking the main gate.
The two, who both come from Lolo Village, Traditional Authority Nanseta in Thyolo, have since been charged with obstructing court officers.
