Minister of Energy Newton Kambala, Aford President Enoch Chihana and Presidential aide Chris Chaima Banda are back at Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) headquarters in Lilongwe after spending a night in police custody.
The trio was arrested yesterday in connection to alleged attempts to unlawfully influence awarding of contracts at National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA).
The three will face interrogation by ACB investigators this morning.
However, it is unclear when they will be taken to court to be formally charged or apply for bail.
At the bureau headquarters, family and sympathizers have been gathering to cheer them up. Some brought breakfast. Renowned politicians and lawyers have also been seen at the bureau.
