There is tight security at Lilongwe court as police officers are manning the court gates as the arrested Minister of Energy Newton Kambala, Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) president Enoch Chihana and Chris Chaima Banda are Due to appear before court.

Supporters from AFORDA have already arrived at the court to cheer their arrested leader, Chihana hence the presence of heavy security from the police.

Today, United Transformation Movement (UTM) supporters did not come to the court as they did yesterday following remarks by their leaders to let justice prevail.

Yesterday, UTM’s publicist Frank Mwenifumbo, called on supporters who gathered at the Anti-Corruption Bureau office to leave the premises saying their presence might be pressurizing ACB officials.

The three are expected to be formally charged having being interrogated by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for the past two days in connection with fuel deals at NOCMA.
