Zambia’s President elect Hakainde Hichilema has sent a stern warning to people who are engaging themselves in acts of violence in the name of celebrations.

Aftermath the official announcement of general; elections by the Zambia’s Electoral Commission, people moved into the streets looing shops in the name of celebrations.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Hichilema said he will not spare anyone engaging in the criminal activities.

“It has come to my attention that some people have resorted to damaging property during this transition period. I would like to issue a stern warning to anyone who will take advantage of the transition to engage in criminal activities,” he said.

Hichilema added; “We urge the general public to cooperate with the police and report any such acts. Criminality will not be tolerated from this point forward.”

Meanwhile, most parts of the country are reporting a number of criminal; activities.
