Former Minister of Natural Resources, Energy and Mining, Aggrey Masi, is this morning testifying in a case in which former deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works Charles Mchacha is being accused of illegal acquisition of land in Kanjedza Forest Reserve in Blantyre.

The case also involves former Lands Minister Simon Vuwa Kaunda, former secretary to President and Cabinet, Lloyd Muhara and Ministry of Defence principal secretary Bright Kumwembe who are accused of having a hand in the alleged illegal acquisition of land which was leased to Mchacha.

The case started yesterday with the state parading one witness in the case and today the state will parade two more witnesses.

Evidence given so far, is on how Mchacha managed to acquire land within Kanjedza Forest Reserve, which the state believes was done illegally.
