MEC has accredited 107 Civil Society Organizations – CSOs, 16 Media and Advertising Agencies as well as 31 Media Houses, according to a statement signed by the commissions’ Chief Elections Officer Willie Kalonga.
They have also taken on board 91 drama groups and 33 musical bands to help raising awareness on the polls.
Members of the public had expressed concern with the delays in kick starting the voter and civic education exercise, saying MEC was facing a race against time.
Meanwhile, Kalonga has stressed that the accreditation is subject to organizations signing a code of conduct, on a date yet to be announced.
