Tiyanjane Chibingu, a daughter to former Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development Paul Chibingu, is reported dead after the vehicle she was travelling swerved off the road and hit a tree at Ken Trading Centre in Lunzu.

The father of the deceased and the police have confirmed of the accident in a separate statement seen by this publication.

Chibingu wrote: “My last born daughter died on car accident. Her name is Tiyanjane.”

According to police statement, the deceased was driving from Kameza round about heading towards Lunzu along M1 road.

“Upon arrival near Keni Trading Centre, she lost control of the motor vehicle and swerved off the road to the far offside where she ended up hitting a tree.

“Due to the impact the vehicle rested (landed) on its nearside part. The driver sustained head injury and death was confirmed at Mlambe Mission Hospital. The motor vehicle had its rear side part extensively damaged,” read in part the police statement.

Meanwhile, funeral details are still sketchy.
