Police in Chikwawa have netted two men for allegedly being found in possession of cattle carcass without valid documents.
District police spokesperson Sergeant Dickson Matemba confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
Matemba identified the suspects as Peter Makina, 46, and Steven Juma, 47.
Matemba said the duo were arrested at Kamuzu bridge when they were moving with three slaughtered cattle in a vehicle Serena registration number NE 6664 on their way to Blantyre and when asked to produce documents they failed to do so.
According to police, Makina hails from Mazongoza village Traditional Authority Kuntaja and Juma hails from Sumani village Traditional Authority Nsomba both from Blantyre District.
The arrest comes when livestock farmers in lowershire have been complaining of rampant theft of cattle and goats.
