The Officer in -Charge for Mponela police station Assistant Commissioner of police, Bosco Malanga has urged agro dealers at Mponela township in Dowa to conduct thier businesses according to law.
Malanga was speaking this on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Mponela police ground.
The Officer In-Charge cautioned against duping farmers by selling them expired or fake crop seeds during the coming rainy season, saying the law will not spare them.
The business owners were urged to join police in ensuring law abiding businesses operate in the township for the farmers to get what they deserve.
Malanga further appealed to business owners to hire watchmen for security of their properties. He bemoaned tendency of having one watchman against more than one shops saying such creates a room for thieves to rob them.
In his remarks, Branch Manager for Smallholder Farmers Fertrizer Revolving Fund of Malawi (SFFRFM), Bester Mphonde hailed police for organizing such a meeting saying it helped them strategise ways to deal with unscrupulous traders who spoil thier business.
Station Officer for Mponela police Superintendent Makalani Mbwana said police embarked on meeting traders, urging them to join hands with police in the fight against crime in the township and surrounding areas.
