The Nkhoma Synod of the CCAP has reaffirmed its commitment to helping Government advance the country’s development agenda.
The Synod’s leadership was speaking at the end of a biennial assembly at Chongoni in Dedza District.
In his remarks during the Assembly, Reverend Philip Kambulire said the Church and the State should remain steadfast partners, for enhanced national progress.
Speaking during the assembly, President Dr Lazarus Chakwera commended the role of religious bodies in development. Among other things, he assured the Synod that his Government is paying attention to challenges affecting the church, including a 6-kilometre earth road connecting Chongoni and the M1 road.
During the Assembly, the Malawi leader also supported the Church with a sum of K2 million.
This is the 39th Assembly of the Synod. During the session, delegates took stock of how the Synod has faired and how it will carry out its mandate in the next two years.
