One of Zambia’s top Rapper Mwila Musonda popularly known as Slapdee is likely to be served what he deserves as Zambians have agreed not to vote for him following his nomination by AFRIMMA Awards as Best Male Rapper Southern.
Prior to Zambia’s 2021 General Elections, Slapdee was among few rappers and musicians who sided with the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) party which as being led Zambia’s former president Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
Slapdee composed song glorifying the leadership of Lungu and urged people to vote for him, what he did not know was that Zambians had already made their decisions since they were tired of Adada Lungu.
Following his nomination, Zambians have since said its time for them to pay him back by not voting for him.
Speaking to one of the local media houses, Slapdee said he has realized that he made a mistake and that mixing music and politics does not get along.
But Slapdee said he really did not have a choice because of contractual obligations saying what he did was ‘necessary’.
The rapper however says he has learnt that politics and the music business don’t mix.
He then added that he is very excited about the nomination but advised Zambians that if they do not want to vote for him, they should vote for other Zambians nominated by AFRIMMA.
The other artists nominated are Bombshell and Sampa the Great who are in the same category of best Female Rapper.
