Bishop Francis Kaulanda of the Anglican Diocese of Lake Malawi has been involved in road accident in Nkhotakota district.
The accident happened on Monday night, according to published reports.
The bishop was in the company of relatives returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred.
He lost control of the vehicle after a tyre burst and the vehicle overturned.
Some of the passengers have been treated for minor injuries at Nkhotakota District Hospital.
