The Mulunguzi magistrates court in Zomba has adjourned a case in which a Soul Winners’ Church pastor is being accused of defiling and impregnating a 15-year-old from the Church’s orphanage.

The victim was the only witness who testified in camera Monday afternoon, out of the four the state is expected to parade.

Lawyer Noel Supedi representing the accused pastor Penjani Sodzera 39, asked for an adjournment on grounds that he had another case at the high court in Blantyre.

Police prosecutor Rodrick Kamuona complained that there have been delays that are costly as some of the witnesses are coming from Lilongwe, but later settled for November 17th as the next day to continue hearing.

First grade magistrate Johnes Masula adjourned the case to the proposed date, but warned the defence lawyer to dedicate the day to this case alone for the sake of progress.
