Human Rights Ambassadors have called for the resignation of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima.
The group said this after presenting its petition to Blantyre City council (BCC) over rising cost of living and failure by the Tonse Alliance to fulfill some campaign promises.
HRA also demanded for the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara, Leader of Opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa who is also Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South.
The organisation has based this call on what it calls unbearable cost of living and high unemployment levels in the country.
Before presenting the petition, the grouping led Malawian in peaceful protests from Blantyre Town Hall to Civic Offices.
Protesters chanted anti-Chakwera’s songs with others calling for the return of former President Peter Mutharika.
Effort to talk to Minister of Information Gospel Kazako on the matter proved futile.
