The country’s vice president Saulos Chilima later today is expected to hold bilateral talks with the president of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

At the moment the vice president is attending te 21st Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Summit in Cairo, Egypt.

Among other things, the Vice President is expected to address the Summit themed “Building resilience through strategic digital economic integration.”

The indaba seeks to rally countries under COMESA to safeguard and advance the body’s regional integration agenda through digital platforms. This is expected to facilitate inter-trade among the group’s 21 member states.

The Summit is underway amid tight security at Cairo’s Stregis Almasa Hotel, touted Africa’s biggest in the hospitality industry.
