The Tonse Led Government, through the Ministry of Agriculture, has written prominent former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Mike Tyson to be a brand ambassador for industrial and chemical cannabis which will be produced in the country.

A letter to Tyson, which has been signed by Agriculture Minister Lobin Lowe, says the partnership is aimed at creating a profitable means of promoting the local industrial hemp to the world.

In an interview, Ministry of Agriculture spokesperson, Gracian Lungu, says Tyson’s ambassadorial is being facilitated by the United States Cannabis Association, an off-taker company that is closely working with local cannabis farmers.

Lungu says Tyson was expected to be in the country last week but the trip was postponed to finalize preparations for his engagements when he will be in Malawi.
