FISD Limited Company has threatened to uproot a multi-million kwacha water pumping equipment in Phalombe district.

Chief executive officer for the company Raymond Mwenitete told the press that government owes the company over half a billion kwacha for a period of two years.

“We have exhausted all avenues but it seems government doesn’t want to pay us, the only solution is to uproot and install it somewhere.

“As am talking to you Ecobank has threatened to sell the house that is housing our offices because we can’t service the loan that assisted in implementation of the project.” Lamented Mwenitete.

Traditional Authority Chiwalo has expressed concern over the development, saying water borne diseases will find a haven in the area should FISD carry out it’s threat.

District Commissioner for Phalombe Rodrick Mateauma says the situation is unfortunate but only responsible personnel from water department can comment better.
