Rihanna has responded to pregnancy rumours by directly replying to a fan, who had messaged her on Instagram to ask if they could ‘come to the baby shower’.
The singer – who is currently in a relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky – is regularly hit with speculation that she is with child.
The latest rumours came as Rihanna was named by Barbados as a national hero after the country removed Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state.
During the ceremony, many fans thought they could see a ‘blooming bump’ under her long orange gown, but others argued that there was nothing to it.

One person, however, decided to do a little more digging, and actually reached out to Rihanna on Instagram.
“Can I come to the baby shower sis!?” Instagrammer Jen (@mis.jaye) wrote in a direct message.
“True or not your babies are going to be beautiful!
“Sorry everyone’s up in your uterus right now.”
Amazingly, Rihanna replied, in turn seemingly shutting down the rumours.
She said: “Haaaaa! Stawwwp! You ain’t came to the first 10 baby showers!
“Y’all breed me every year dammit lol.”
Posting a screenshot of their conversation on Instagram, Jen said: “Her uterus said ‘stay out of my damn business’.
“I spit my water out when she said ‘the first 10 baby showers’. Regardless I’m happy for her either way she’s living life to the fullest!”
Rihanna has previously spoken about her hope to become a mother one day, saying she wants to have a number of children by the time she’s in her 40s.
Speaking to British Vogue in 2020, she said: “Ten years? I’ll be 42! I’ll be ancient. I’ll have kids – three or four of ’em.”
Rihanna added that she’d do it even if she hadn’t found the right partner, continuing: “I feel like society makes me want to feel like, ‘Oh, you got it wrong…’ They diminish you as a mother if there’s not a dad in your kids’ lives.
“But the only thing that matters is happiness, that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child. That’s the only thing that can raise a child truly, is love.”
After the pregnancy rumours began to circulate online, many fans leapt to Rihanna’s defence, with one simply writing: “Rihanna’s pregnant when Rihanna says she’s pregnant.”
Another said: “Unless Rihanna herself says she’s pregnant then she isn’t. It’s f***ing simple. Assuming and spreading false rumours about a pregnancy just from her appearance is highkey insensitive and disrespectful. Y’all should learn to be ashamed.”
