Businessman Thom Mpinganjira has resigned as President of Mighty Wanderers Football Club and Board Chairperson.
Mpinganjira’s resignation comes barely a day after his side lost 4-1 against town rivals Nyasa Big Bullets in the semifinals of Airtel Top 8 Cup.
The loss meant Wanderers have finished this season trophy-less after another exit in the FDH Bank Cup.
Mpinganjira is currently at Chichiri Prison where he is serving a 9 year jail sentence after being found guilty of attempting to bribe constitutional court judges.
Meanwhile, Mpinganjira is asking the court to release him on bail pending his appeal on the matter.
