His Royal Highness Nabil Mbombo Njoya, the new sultan of Bamoun in Cameroon has offered to cater for a 14-year-old girl’s education to whom he was supposed to get married to.
HRH Nabil Mbombo Njoya refused to marry the 14-year-old girl, saying she is a minor, thus she needs to be in school studying to attain a respectable career in her life as he offers to pay for her education.
To end traditional procedures known as “Lah-Kam,” a new Sultan’s wife must come from the Njim Monchouh line, according to custom.
But, Sultan Njoya, on the other hand, turned down the family’s offer of a 14-year-old girl because she was a child, preferring instead to marry his long-term girlfriend.
