The body of retired Child Rights Magistrate Esmie Tembenu will arrive in the country from South Africa on Friday, December 17, 2021 via Chileka Airport in Blantyre, family confirmed.

According to a statement seen by this publication, after the arrival of the remains of the late Tembenu, the body will be taken to Kwacha Central Area for a brief Church Service before leaving for Ntcheu on the same day.

The late Tembenu will be laid to rest on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Dingisako Village, Lizulu Traditional Authority (T/A) Chakhumbira in Ntcheu .

She died on Friday, December 10 in the Rainbow Nation where she was receiving treatment as she was involved in a road accident in Nsanje.

Tembenu was involved in road accident last week and was admitted at Nsanje District Hospital.

At the time of the accident, the retired Magistrate, was driving a motor vehicle registration number NU 418, Toyota’s Belta Salon from the direction of Nsanje heading to Marka with four passengers on board.

They were in Nsanje for activities to do with the 16 days of activism, the country is observing.

According to Nsanje Police Station, Public Relations Officer, Agnes Zalakoma, upon arrival at Marka Trading Centre, she lost control of the motor vehicle and swerved to the offside dirty verge where it overturned three times.
