A man, 46,has died after being hit by a truck at Kamwendo trade centre in Mchinji last evening.

Officer-in-Charge for Kamwendo Police Post, John Namalenga, has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

Namalenga said the driver of the truck registration number ZA9984, Gressan Linje, lost control of the vehicle upon reaching the scene and swerved to extreme nearside where he hit Charles Montfort, who stood on the far side of the road.

He sustained internal injuries and bruises, before he was taken to Mchinji District Hospital where he died while being treated.

The man hailed from Chaferamthengo village, in the area of T/A Zulu in Mchinji district.
