The leader of ‘Malawi Salibwino’ demonstrations, Bon kalindo has vowed to call for referendum if the Tonse Alliance will not bow down to their demands.

Speaking with Kulinji.com, Kalindo said his team of his lawyers are on the ground tabling their next move.

“We are working with our lawyers, if government does listen to the cries of its own people then what is next is what we should also ask the same people to say if they want the same government, the same leadership to continue.

“We will call for a referendum if they do not listen to what we are telling them to do,” Kalindo said.

After series of demonstrations last year, government agreed to meet with Kalindo and other officials.

The government agreed to reduce the fees of toll gates but up to now, the new prices are yet to be implemented.

Kalindo has assured to hold further demos this year from 13th January, including a vigil at Chingeni toll plaza in Balaka on 23rd January.
