President Lazarus Chakwera is being dared to stick to his word, following the deployment of his daughter, Violet Chakwera, to Malawi’s diplomatic mission in the UK.

Reports indicate that Violet has reported at the London mission office as first secretary responsible for investments, contrary to Chakwera’s rebuttal last year that his daughter was not going to any foreign mission.

At that time, reports were rife that the President’s daughter was earmarked for a diplomatic posting in Brussels, Belgium.

The latest development has attracted fierce public criticism with some questioning her attributes, and qualifications for the job.

Reacting to the development, Mzuzu based political commentator George Phiri, reminds Chakwera that every word he utters as President should be regarded as a policy issue, hence the need for him to live by the same.

There was no immediate comment from State House and foreign affairs authorities despite numerous attempts to solicit the same.
