A 27-year-old Burundian has been shot dead in his shop in Lusaka’s Chainda Compound.

Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga stated that Robert Talisisi died instantly while his worker is in critical condition.

“Police recieved a report of Murder and Aggravated robbery from M/Richard Jean-Marie aged 22 of the unmarked house in Chainda a Burundian National who reported that his fellow national Robert Talisisi aged 27 was shot dead by unknown criminals whilst in his shop in Chainda.

He sustained a fatal bullet wound on his head and died instantly whilst his worker Fabrice Ntakirutimana aged 22 who was shot in the stomach is in a critical condition and was rushed to University Teaching Hospital,” Mr Hamoonga stated.

He stated that an unknown amount of money is believed to have been stolen.

Mr. Hamoonga stated that this occurred on 5th January 2022 around 22:10 hours in Canada.

He stated that police visited the scene of crime and two empty cartilages for an Ak-47 rifle were picked one inside the shop and another one from outside.

Mr Hamoonga stated that the body has been taken to University Teaching Hospital Mortuary while while investigations have been instituted into the matter.
