In a very rare feat, four Mozambican urban musicians and DJ are expected to rhyme against their Malawian counterparts this Saturday at Mustang Sally in Blantyre .

The four; Oliver Style, 2 Caras, N’ star and DJ Ninaz will come face to face with local urban musicians namely Maskal, Young Kay, Biriwiri, Team Gypsy and DJ Doug Fresh. Others are reggae artists Jeddie 1 Tafari and Armstrong.

According to the organizers of the show, Nde’feyo Entertainment, the show is aimed at giving Malawians a podium to sample the Mozambican urban music.

“Through these concerts, we also want them to share ideas on how they can perfect their acts. As neighbours, we believe we have a lot we can share and exchange,” said Ndefeyo’s communications manager Hastings Kimpho Loka.

Loka said after the show, Malawians artists will also visit Mozambique for a series of performance.

“This will be a genesis of cultural and artistic exchange between Malawi and some of its neighbours,” he said.

Maskal said he is geared to dish out his best during the international music gala.

“The more I learn new things, the more I realize how little I know, and this coming event is an opportunity for me to learn another new thing. And I promise to be in my usual undisappointing mood,” he said.

The music festival has come barely few weeks after both Maskal and Young Kay were crowned as the best Male Vocalist and Hip-hop Artist respectively during the Malawi Music Awards.
