The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) said it is still protesting against mandatory Covid-19 vaccination despite its application to halt the initiative being thrown away by court last week.

CDEDI Executive Director, Sylvester Namiwa made the remarks during a press briefing in Lilongwe.

According to Namiwa, Covid-19 is not a number one killer in the country and its presence has overshadowed some killer diseases like cancer and malaria among others.

Along with a member of the organization, Mundango Nyirenda, Namiwa insists that there is no need for the Covid jab to be mandatory.

The two have since indicated that they cannot reveal at the moment whether or not they will challenge the court’s decision.
