Malawi leader Lazarus Chakwera has pledged to give players of the national team K1 million each if they win today’s match against Senegal and proceed to round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

In a statement seen by this publication, Anthony Kasunda, Chakwera’s spokesperson said players who will be on the bench will receive K500, 000 each.

“I pledge to offer a token of appreciation to the Flames players if they get a desired result from their encounter with Senegal this evening and proceed to the Round of 16 at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations,” said Chakwera.

He continued; “Players that will feature in the game will receive K1 million each. Those on the bench will get K500, 000 each.”

According to Chakwera, he wishes Flames all the best as they are on the verge of making history.

Today, The Flames will face Senegal after they defeated Warriors of Zimbabwe by 2 goals to 1 last week.
