Malawi president Lazarus Chakwera is being accused of selective justice in the way he is handling corruption related matters involving senior members in his cabinet.

The critics made reference to Chakwera’s silence on Minister of Lands Kezzie Msukwa who is being implicated in Zuneith Sattar scandal.

They observe that Chakwera’s handling of Msukwa, contrasts his swift dismissal of Ken Kandodo and Newton Kambala for their alleged involvement in Covid fund abuse and dubious fuel deals respectively.

According to the critics, it is very strange that the President is still maintaining Msukwa in his cabinet, despite his recent arrest by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for alleged involvement in dubious land deals.

Commenting on the issue, a Blantyre based political commentator, Victor Chipofya, is pressing Chakwera to take action on Msukwa.

Also weighing in his views a political science lecturer at the Blantyre International University Sherriff Kaisi, who feels the President could be taking his time to gather correct information on the matter.
